Snowflaking!

We took an extended weekend trip to Sugar Mountain this weekend. Our nephew Austin has been calling it our Snowflakin' trip ever since it was planned. I did not get any good pictures of him skiing, but he did so good for his first time! And the twins enjoyed playing in the snow for the first time!
Here's Cade as we crossed the state line into N.C. It was his first time out of South Carolina!
And Carson was eating his shoestrings on his first trip out of state!
We made it to the cabin - Carson and Cade are interested in checking every thing out!
The first morning to wake up!

Cade and Carson enjoyed looking at the creek with Grandpa!
Carson and Daddy enjoy shopping at Lowes Foods just like our grocery store in Myrtle Beach!

Cade likes his first ride in a buggy! The twins had fun at the creek with Grandpa and Grandma while Daddy was skiing!
Carson enjoys sitting with Grandma outside!
Our cabin was very neat with all these fun places outside to enjoy the creek!

This was our cabin from across the creek.

We enjoyed snow tubing!
The boys just watched with Grandma and Grandpa while Uncle Adam, Aunt Joni, Austin, Mommy, and Daddy tubed!
The cousins always enjoy snack time!
Cade and Carson are good at picking out chairs to nap in!
And Chairs to play in!
This was a view of Sugar Mountain at night!
Our family on vacation!

Daddy played outside with us!
More Snowflakin' pictures!
Time to leave the cabin!
The boys were all so glad to get home and rest after the big trip!
The babies are eating their nuggets for dinner. I gave them whole nuggets tonight, and they did surprisingly well taking bites without shoving too much in! They also ate green beans and applesauce tonight with milk to drink!
Cade and Carson always really enjoy their bath!
They love taking baths together. Sometimes they play with each other, but tonight they were into separate play. Cade was so pleased that he just got the washcloth out of my hand that he keeps squealing - it's shrieks of joy! Normally Carson talks a lot, too, and throws things out of the tub, but you know how it goes when you try to catch something on camera! Here they are playing in the tub!

Our First Birthday Party!

Last weekend we had a big party for the boys! They had so much fun! Here's the train cakes before we took them out! Here's the crowd with Kimberly catching the camera for a smile!
Here's more family and friends with Austin taking a look at the camera!

Here's some of the train cupcakes we made!

The boys showed everybody how much they love to eat chicken nuggets and fries!
Carson is trying to get Papa as he takes a picture!

Cade tries to get Papa, too! Notice the 4 front teeth on both of the boys!

The twins love their party hats!
Mommy and Daddy help the twins open presents!
The children played outside while we opened presents! Here's Mark Randall getting a ride from Jack and Austin as Uncle Adam supervises!

Time for cake! The babies enjoy being sung to!
They must be thinking Mommy and Daddy have gone crazy!
Carson was especially worried we may take it away, so he made sure to dive in!
Again here's the before!

Our Day of Firsts!

On our First Birthday, 1/30/08, we did lots of things for the first time! We all took off work and Day Care for the day to celebrate!
Here's the before picture at the Barber Shop!

And Cade being so good while getting his first hair cut!
And Carson with the comb during his first haircut!
Rodney did a great job cutting their hair! He had envelopes ready for us to catch the hair, combs for them to hold while they sat so still, and suckers for the boys when it was all over. And he even gave them cute certificates for good conduct during a first hair cut! Here's Cade then Carson with their first suckers!

I knew they'd be good - but they sat so still and just watched him in the mirror! He said it was the best any baby had done - and there were 2 of course!

Well, they weren't so happy with us for taking away the suckers they were just given, so the after picture had to be snapped really quickly!

Then we had First Birthday pictures made at Olan Mills and even had individual pictures made since we're one year old now!

Lunch at Chick-Fil-A was a lot of fun with their first balloons on strings!

They also had their first ice cream - which they loved! I thought it would be too cold for them, but I guess since they drink cold whole milk now they should like ice cream!

Here's a picture of the boys riding in Daddy's big truck in the big boy carseats for the first legal day! They did test them out twice before now!

And here's the boys when we went out to play at home after going shopping at the StrideRite outlet for their first pairs of new tennis shoes!

And here we are back at home playing! Don't these babies look like little grown men now with their haircuts and big boy tennis shoes!

Here's Daddy giving the boys their birthday presents!

They are intrigued!

Cade is impressed, but Carson wants something he can play with!

They boys are ready for bed! We praise the Lord that they're one!

Here's the train cupcakes we made for their party at Day Care!

Here's the boys after their one year old check up the next day! They each weigh almost 21 pounds! The shots were awful painful this time, but the sweet receptionist gave them stickers and they were fine!

Here's Carson with GGD Bob who's in town for the big birthday party!

And here's Carson loving his Papa!

GGM Viv and Nana love to hold Cade and Carson, too! We're all getting very excited about the big party!

Tomorrow's the big day!

One day Carson thought he was our little toy because he climbed in this toy basket!
Then he tried to be a book (there's a basket back there with books in it)!
Cade and Carson love for Daddy to play with them while they take their bath!
Cade and Carson love dropping balls and anything else that will fit in the ball drop on the Learning Playground!
Here's Cade wanting to get in the rocking chair!
When I got to Day Care today - the daughter of the lady who runs the Day Care at her house said the boys stood up without pulling on anything! I haven't seen that yet! It's funny to me that they are standing from the middle of the floor before they are walking. I don't know which is supposed to come first, it just seems like babies would take a couple of free steps prior to standing without help. Of course they rolled over early from back to tummy (the hard way) first. They may just do things a little out of order. And they have always enjoyed standing - I think it's just more important to them than all the walking. It's hard enough to keep up with them crawling and cruising around - maybe the walking will hold off a couple of months!
