We Miss Daddy!

Hey babe! Here's your little ones in their Gamecocks gear again b/c that's all they would wear. Eating chicken nuggets with ketchup and BBQ sauce by the forkfulls!
Then we made cupcakes! Cade is in the middle of saying Daddy likes the beaters!

They wouldn't get out of the highchairs until the cupcakes were baked and cooled off!
For some crazy reason they asked for water, so I took their juice cups away and gave them water!
This is Cade saying: I want to share with CarCar! Of course, Carson said no!
Then the boys wanted to take pictures with the camera! Carson still looks like you even with the upper part of his head gone!
Carson may be a slightly better photographer! Both of them are working on some serious cupcake bellies!
Spinning around in the room before bedtime!
Showing off what they're going to wear tomorrow!
More spinning and falling!
More spinning and falling after washing up, brushing teeth and changing!
Picking out books!
Ready to read, say loves, say prayers, and sing!
Night Night Daddy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Night Night Daddy!
I love you!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I love you!

Austin's B-Day Party!

Cade and Carson's oldest cousin turned 6 this week and had a fun party on Saturday! Happy Birthday Austin!

We got there a little early and got some fun play time in with just Austin!

Aunt Joni and Austin are helping Cade up the climbing wall on the back!
There he goes - look at the terror on that face - sorry he went faster than my finger!
Surprisingly, Carson wanted to climb up, too!
And was nowhere near as scared as Cade!
Who'd have thought he'd be so brave? Guess they're switching back again!
Austin's going down on a boogie board while Carson drives the tractor around!
Then the camera got wet, and I thought it was ruined cause it kept taking pictures like this:
But I just took it apart and put it in the house to dry, and everything's fine! Still, I'm glad it wasn't the big camera!

Halloween in June and Other Creative Moments!

One of our receptive language questions at work is: "Is Halloween in the month of March?" Of course that's asking much older people who've had strokes or Dementia! Well, our boys were looking at pictures and saw their Halloween costumes and asked to dress up like penguins! This is the first time they've ever asked to dress up, so I thought it was cute! Well, they ask for certain clothes a lot and one of those is their Gamecocks basketball jersey outfits, but I don't think it's for dressing up, I think it's just because they love 'em!
Of course as soon as they got the sweatshirts on, Cade asked for the hats and Carson asked for the buckets! Complete! But what goes in the buckets?

Oh yeah, they remembered that, too! They got suckers in their buckets this time and had me open them right away to go ahead and eat while sitting right there like good little penguins!

On another day this week, they made this fort in the living room!
They love to play together! Cade especially loves to line stuff up and say choo choo tracks or choo choo train. Carson especially loves to grab pretend items and hand them to Cade to share. They both pretend so much - it's hilarious to hear them play and what they're talking about when they play. The other day when Kevin and I were working on a project in the yard, they were each playing with one end of the water hose "putting out the fire" like little firefighters!
They never cease to amaze me or amuse me! I keep thinking they're doing so great with their language skills, and then they'll show me more. Maybe they'll be writers!!! They say all the small words now that they were always leaving out like: in, the, a, is, etc. So cool! So "What that" changed to "What is that!" It has totally increased their mean length of utterance (MLU). The longest sentence that I've counted was nine words long! "I don't see any boats on the water either!"
~~~
I forgot to mention the singing in any previous posts. They've recently started singing more songs! They'll sing along with us now on lots of songs - not at church yet, but in the car or at home. They've started to make up some or have me make up songs for them. I may have mentioned on here that they love doggies and firetrucks the best of all things! Well, they must've started a couple months ago (around the time they turned 2) always requesting doggie songs at night before bed. You know there aren't a lot of doggie songs out there. We'd sing the parts of the ones that we knew, but one day Kevin decided to substitute in "doggie" for spider in the Itsy Bitsy Spider! It has been requested every night since. Sometimes it is sung with doggie, sometimes puppy! Tying things in here - the boys also like helicopters and when the big fire was in Myrtle Beach we talked a lot about firefighters and keeping us safe, etc. They also learned about the huge helicopters that filled up in the lakes and dropped water on the fire.
~~~
Well, on the cruise every night, I would lay with the boys before they fell asleep! (In that little twin bed, yeah, I know! But we actually fit fine. They don't sprawl out until after they're out!) So we would read books and sing just like at home in the cribs. The first night Carson's creative request was: "Sing, 'Puppies' Helicopter'" It was requested every night on Mickey's boat, but has not been requested since! Guess it was just a vacation thing! Anyway, here's the words (I made up - gonna be a big hit some day, so watch for it):
~~~
The puppies' helicopter flies high in the sky
Over Mickey's Boat
Round and Round it goes
Cade and Carson ride on the puppies' helicopter
Over Mickey's Boat
Round and Round they go
In the helicopter!
95 Years of Marriage!
We went to the Upstate this past weekend to celebrate Anniversaries! The boys are checking out the dogs after eating at the yummylicious Walhalla Steakhouse!
We headed out in the boat after that!
Bapa and Nana have been married 35 years!!!!
Fun times on the water!
We liked all the sailboats!
Carson had lots of fun riding with Nana!
We rode from Nana and Bapa's house to GG and Big Papa's house where "Uncle Joe" was waving at us!
It was fun to hang out!
We also had a belated present for GG and Big Papa's 58th wedding anniversary in May (but that is not part of the 95 we were celebrating from June 8th!)!
Cade did not want to make room for Carson to sit down, so he spread out his legs! And look at those nice tan legs that once won a sexy legs contest!
Cade, Big Papa, and Carson say goodbye before Big Papa and GG get off the boat at their dock!
Uncle Joe waved goodbye!
Zane had fun playing with his Aunt Lisa!!!!
We had a blast doing Pat-a-Cake!
I love my sweet baby nephew!
I can't believe Zane's almost 6 months old already!
Suzanne was on farm town, Kevin was napping, and Uncle Ned was playing with the "triplets!"
Just having fun!
We all went to Aunt Kay's house to celebrate with Great-Grandmama Viv and Great-Granddaddy Bob! All these little boys were tired!
Aunt Suzanne is directing the triplets!
Everybody gets ready to hold hands for the blessing before we eat!
It's Granddaddy and Grandmama's 60th Wedding Anniversary!
Celebrating 60 years of marriage!
Zane and his Daddy kick back by the lake!
Aunt Suzanne was on potty duty! Carson loves to say he has to pee pee right after he goes - at least he's on the right track!
Daddy feeds the boys some dessert!
Cade, Suzi, and Carson are attempting Ring Around the Rosies!
Everyone loved climbing and jumping on Aunt Kay's ottoman!
Zane loved for beautiful Grace to hold him!
All the guys went to see Uncle Charles and Will's shop with the new saw mill plainer thingy, so the ladies got to visit quietly . . .
Yeah right!
Grandmama and Dohnia got to catch up!
And Grace got drooled on quite a bit!
Nana ended up feeding more dessert to my wild ones!
I forgot to say that earlier at Nana and Bapa's house - Suzi took a nap like she was supposed to, and my boys climbed out of their pack-n-plays, opened the doors, and came upstairs laughing hysterically! However, they did sleep on the way up the mountain to Aunt Kay's house!
Grandmama got to open the cards and gifts with a little help!
Granddaddy and the children looked on!
Everyone had so much fun at the 60th Wedding Anniversary Party!
Uncle Robert and Aunt Carolyn talk in the background as Will talks with his girlfriend Rebecca and Bapa watches the children playing!
Suzi likes to roll the ball to the boys! I think she has already realized that Cade hoards the ball but Carson will play back!
Suzi and Carson are turning out to be great friends!
Cade continues to play with the ball!
The reason I said 95 years of marriage is because my parents got married on my Grandparents 25th wedding anniversary! So the 60 from my grandparents and the 25 from my parents makes 95 years of marriage on that day! With my Granny and Papa's years from May - whoa - it's 143 years of marriage - I'm pretty sure you don't find that often in a family. I praise God for my parents and both sets of grandparents' wonderful marriages that were all three founded on Christ and have remained faithful so amazingly long!
Here's the boys helping Nana and Bapa get the Elmo's put up in the bag before time to leave after a great weekend!
