Labor Day Beach Trip!

We went to the beach with Aunt Joni and Austin (after Mommy got off work)!
Carson is working hard!

They are both carrying sand on their shovels!
Playing in a tidal pool was fun!
It looks like quicksand here!
Splashing with Austin!

Cade is taking Carson's shovel out to him as they play in the waves!
Carson didn't need it, apparently!
Ok, he needs it now. I guess because the waves are coming up higher!
Fun times!
Cade enjoys his sand toys!

Carson and Austin!
Cade is carrying shells around on the big shovel!
Carson directs Cade as to what should be done next!

Cade brings Carson a ball!
Cade and Carson play with balls on the beach!
Austin jumps off the sand hill!
Copycat #1 and 2 had to do it, too!
Burying the boys in the sand! (burry bury burrying - none of that looks right to me right now!)
My Mermen are talking to each other!
Three little Mermen all lined up!
Austin, Cade and Carson!
Playing in a hole!
Back to the water!  Austin loves the ocean beach!

Cade brought Carson his little gray shovel (notice a pattern here?)!
The beach is so fun!
Cade and Carson start to pack up!
Don't forget all those toys!
Such good little helpers!
We had such a great time with Aunt Joni and Austin at the beach! You'd think we would go all the time, but we really hadn't been in a while! They already can't wait to go back!

Outdoorsmen!

Well, we started indoors with the boys helping me get ready for our hunting adventure on Labor Day weekend!

Driving the tractors before we go to the Dove Field!

Of course they thought they should cut Mr. Todd's grass on his lawn mower!
Daddy pulling the twins in the wagon!
The boys and I read books and played while waiting to shoot some doves!
Carson and Cade in their camo!
Their faces are just so sweet to me!
Watching for the doves with Daddy!
Some were flying in other parts of the field - the other hunters were lucky!
Carson pretending to go fishing!
Cade playing with an old ear of corn he found!
Daddy bringing in one of the doves he shot down!
Both boys are fishing now!
Those little overalls are falling off!
Let's pull the wagon!
Playing on someone's trailor - Mr. Todd had lots of fun men, women and children out there hunting in his fields after feeding all of us! Thanks Mr. Todd! That was a fun adventure for these 2 little growing outdoorsmen!

Adventures at Nana and Bapa T.'s!

We went to visit my parents this weekend. We found out that my Dad is now requesting to be called Bapa T. which I'm trying hard to get used to. We had lots of fun and have several pix to prove it. The boys did pretty good for a 5 hour trip with big boy underwear - we almost made it to Columbia before Cade wet his. So, we got to wash car seat covers this weekend. That was not our biggest fiasco.

Our biggest fiasco was that I PREVIOUSLY forgot to empty out the baby potty in the back of the van. Yes, I carry around a potty everywhere we go. When you are on the go a lot with two little ones that you don't want to touch anything in all those nasty bathrooms, it's just easier to convert the back of the van into a bathroom. Well, usually I dump it right in the grass beside whatever parking spot we're in. And I hadn't considered poop (that will be a story at the end of this post about the way home!)! So, yes there was pee in the pot for at least a week, and it was all dry and gross looking. But that doesn't even help you understand how awful that putrid smell was when I opened that potty at our first potty break in Florence. So I cleaned it out at the gas station, but it still stunk. Needless to say, we soaked it in bleach at Nana and Bapa T.'s and Febreezed the whole van!

Cade and Carson requested to help Bapa T. pick a pepper on Saturday morning!

They carried the pepper inside to show Nana! Bapa T. actually washed it for them and cut it up, but they did not eat it. They played with their pieces like boats during breakfast. Better than I would do at this age.
We played on Suzi's vehicles!

Carson, Daddy, and Cade with Nana and Bapa T.'s house and dock behind them!
What a great mountain view from the lake!
Our family on the boat!
The twins wanted to sit with Nana, too!
We got a full tour of Lake Keowee!
Keowee Toxaway with Bapa T. and Nana who is making a face at one of the boys!
The dam at Lake Jocassee!
All the men playing in the water!
Looking at the red clay mud with Nana!
Watching the geese swim by!
Filling up the cups to dump on the log on shore!
They're so easily entertained!
My little outdoorsmen!Back at Nana and Bapa T.'s, the boys pretended to water all the plants!
Then they pretended to make cupcakes and have a snack!
They thought the little chairs and table should be very close to the windows on the porch - they're always into rearranging furniture!
They brought their Elmos to the tea time!
Singing ABC's!
Riding the Golf Cart with Nana and Bapa T.
Feeding Elmo with Big Papa!
Zane came and Carson was so excited to see him (almost as much as me)!
Zane sits like Carson!
Carson wanted to hold him anyway!
GG and Suzi and Zane are having fun at Nana and Bapa T.'s!
Zane does pat-a-cake for GG!
Nana and Great Granddaddy Bob discuss dinner as Suzi, Cade, and Carson get ready to eat!
Uncle Ned reads a book to the 3 two year olds!
Uncle Ned plays the computer game with Carson!
Cade drives Suzi's tractor, Suzi grabed her trike and Carson was "stuck" with his favorite - the little red car!
It's hard to tell here, but Cade is all wet as he has driven through the sprinklers several times by this point!
So, on to the poop story that you've all been waiting for! We put them in pull-ups for the ride home (with big boy underwear over the pull-ups). They actually kept them dry the whole way home! Yay big boys! So we decided to stop right past Florence since it was still 30 minutes to the house. I got Cade out first because I knew Carson had strained a lot and may have already gone but I knew Cade had not. Well, it was like the biggest poop ever right in that little potty. Thankfully I still have diapers in hidden back pockets in the van b/c I haven't cleaned them out since the boys switched to pull-ups in July! I dumped it right in the diaper, wrapped it up and we threw it in the outside trash can and wiped out the potty like normal with baby wipes. So, on to Carson's turn - same exact thing except the super-stinky version. Guess I'll keep the extra diapers in the back of the van for a while! Ha! Ha!
