Charleston NHC Trip!

I did not take many pictures on our Charleston work trip - I was focused on other things, I guess. We got there Friday night and were relieved to see it was such a beautiful hotel. Here's Michael in the big chair! Mike had to show Cade that he was not the "Daddy" he was looking for!
Niccole and I were glad to see each other again!

The next night Cade and Carson played and went to sleep so much better than Friday night.
Carson points out his crib.
Cade tries to stay away from his crib!
And that's all the pictures I took! But the boys had fun all over Charleston with Daddy all day Saturday and today while I was in seminars!

Belly - Still Reminiscing!

This is me and my sister-in-law Suzanne at my baby shower! I was 25 weeks along and she was 38 - I look way more prego than she does!

My belly at Christmas time 2 years ago!
Don't let me scare you with this one! They were really wanting to come out!

The Month I Didn't Know the Babies were Arriving!

Flashback 2 years to this week - Kevin and I bought a new Nissan Titan truck (on the Thursday before going into labor) with full back seat and real back doors in preparation for the twins. Our stroller didn't fit in the trunk of my old car. So I got to drive his truck a couple of days - it just so happened that I went into pre-term labor and didn't get to drive it very long. Don't worry I was driving it again the day after Cade and I went home from the hospital (to breastfeed Carson at the hospital)! It was goodbye Accord! I actually don't miss Taffy now that I have my nice Sienna!

Here's my journal entry from 1/11/07: I had my 30 week visit today! Everything is good. He said my cervical length is 3.2 compared to 3.6 2 weeks ago. He said all is well with one more appointment to measure cervical length at my next visit which will be 1/30/07 (ironically, that is the day they ended up being born!!!) with an ultrasound and Dr. Spielvogel. When that happens, I'll be 33 weeks, and he said we won't need to measure cervical length anymore because thinning and effacement anytime after that is fine. Today is the first day my ankles have swollen - I just noticed it at my appointment while waiting. I showed him, and he said not to worry - the little bit of swelling was fine. I now weigh 140lbs and my waist measures 39". My blood pressure was 100/60 and he said he looked over my 3-hour sugar test really well and was not worried. He apologized for putting me through it - isn't he so nice. I got to see both babies and hear their heartbeats again today! So precious! They've been kicking me like crazy again lately. It was so great to see Cade and Carson on our 9th ultrasound! Baby A's head is still in position with feet up near my right ribs and Baby B's head is now lying on top of Baby A's head with his feet wrapped up at the top of my belly. Neither baby is in breech position at this time, and he said things look on go for a vaginal delivery when the time comes. He told me again he will closely consider baby B's size to make sure his head won't get stuck. It looks like we should make it til the end of February - Dr. Spielvogel is very pleased with everything. He told me again to keep on being normal! I got to see his wife and his baby boy - so precious and really big - and one of his little girls! They use the same Duoglider stroller that we'll be using for Cade and Carson! These beautiful pictures are from mine and Kevin's last weekend together at the beach without children! Not exactly a babymoon, though! We were there for my work continuing education conference. I have been on the planning committee for it this year, and let me just say the NHC Regional therapy conference is no small event! It is this weekend, and was this same weekend two years ago. I was so big then and of course didn't know I was going to have the babies so soon.
Two days later, I didn't make it into work. Instead, I made it here at Grand Strand Hospital!
After about 5 hours of that awful magnesium sulfate, antibiotics, steriods and other medication, I was stable enough (contractions back to greater than 5 minutes apart) to move to McLeod where it would be safer for the twins if they did indeed come before 32 weeks since they have a NICU. So, here we are at McLeod where we stayed 1 entire week which felt like forever.
We were so thankful for all the family and friends visiting!
Sorry that I don't have pictures of all of you that came to visit!
All the prayers and flowers were very much appreciated, too!
I went out and bought this same sweater in another color after Niccole came to visit me wearing it (after the boys were able to go outside - it had to be 72 degrees anywhere we had them including outside to go from store to store shopping - with the exception of the 2 to 3 times a week Doctor's/Hospital visits - yuck!)
Kevin was so sweet to spend so much time in Florence and on the road between the hospital and work anticipating the birth of our babies!

Time to Reminisce!

These pictures are from one year ago today. I guess it's because this is their birthday month, but I am in a major mood for reminiscence! The next several posts will probably be "old" stuff now that the boys are almost TWO YEARS OLD!
The top one is Carson crawling over Cade. The bottom one is Cade excited to play with the lamb.

First Christmas?

It's time to retire these pajamas - they say "My first Christmas" with a Teddy dressed like Santa in a sleigh with a reindeer pulling it. I loved them on the boys last year and had them wear them a lot this Christmas, too! Carson is reading his Cabela's magazine!
Cade is ready to play! And, yes they have worn them throughout the year at times when pajamas selections got low!

Parking their little red cars in the "garage!"
Notice the monkey bar entrance has been boarded up - we have to guess Santa must be waiting til they're bigger next Christmas to give them that.
Daddy is working on cleaning out the underbrush in the woods, so these boys will have a fun place to play when they're a little bigger, too!
Cade and Carson are ready to help Daddy!
Tractor chicken!
Daddy tries out the slide!
