What in the world? How are these crazy fun babies of ours so close to two years old? They love to stack blocks, or in this case presents! Here's the beautiful flowers my outpatient gave me. He gave Niccole one, too! Wasn't that the sweetest thing from our patient!
These little boys are talking all the time now! The intelligibility is limited however their language is expanding so fast! They tell us all kinds of things. Here's 23 fun things about the twins:
.I don't think I've written it on here, but a couple of months ago I just had to ask Mrs. Charlie if they were teaching the boys Spanish even though I knew they were not. Carson's sentences were getting so Spanish sounding (again, not pronunciation but concepts): "My turn, my." "No milk, no." "Daddy truck, Daddy." and just putting adjectives after the nouns and other things in odd order.
.Cade has his own strange things. A couple of months ago he started substituting /h/ for some bilabials (sounds made with both lips - sorry for the mix of SLP and Mommy talk). He says /hit/ for sit, /huck/ for truck, /baha/ for Bopa, /hoos/ for shoes. Ok, I can't think of any other bilabials he does it with - I need to start making a list.
.They love to throw balls! I'm expecting a black eye (probably me more likely than them) anytime now from how hard they throw overhanded!
.They love to pretend now. Carson especially loves to feed his toys!
.They love to pretend now. Carson especially loves to feed his toys!
.Of course they are still big copy cats. When Cade hits his toe on something and says /hoe/ handing me his foot to kiss it, Carson comes over and holds up his foot saying /toe/ until I kiss his toe, too! The other day when Cade busted his lip while fishing it was less than an hour later and Carson did it, too!
.They finally learned to say Merry Christmas less than a week before Christmas! It's so cute, but again hard to understand. I tried to record a good one, but they get so excited when I try to record it ends up being squeals!
.They love to play "Night Night" pretending to go to sleep. All of a sudden they'll jump up and I'll say: "Good Morning!" and they go crazy laughing. Their favorite book right now is "Goodnight Gorilla." We almost always read that one each night. The boys each get to pick one book for Mommy to read and then Daddy reads the Bible story.
.They love to tickle and be tickled!
.They love to call Nana and Bopa on the phone (pretend - holding their hands up to their ears).
.They holler: "EIEIO" as they point to the DVD player when we start to ride in the car. They have an Old MacDonald DVD that they watch at Day Care sometimes that they request a lot!
.They can still be entertained in the car by Mommy singing songs, however recently they have started to adamantly respond with: "Mommy, No Mommy!" Guess they're realizing what a bad singer I am!
.After taking the week off to visit my family, the boys got used to having Mommy and Daddy together all the time. When Kevin had to stay home with them the first holiday Day Care was closed, Carson kept telling him: "Mommy go home!"
.They talk about Daddy and his truck and his boat most of the way home from Day Care each day.
.They love to press buttons - especially on their new Hess trucks from Grandma and Grandpa and the dishwasher.
.They are starting to recognize colors, just a few I've noticed but still none every time.
.They prefer candy over anything else.
.They love to run up and give hugs in the middle of their hard playing.
.They are now in size 8 shoes!
.They love to carry their backpacks around and put toys in them. They ask me to put them on and then say: "I'll be back. Bye-bye." and wave at me as they walk out of sight behind the couch in the living room.
.They love to color, and love to put the crayons or colored pencils in the box when they're done.
.They're actually pretty good at cleaning up and love to follow simple directions, like: "Put Elmo in Cade's crib."
.They are getting so good at taking turns, like when washing hands or rinsing toothbrushes at the sink on their little stools. They announce who's turn it is: "Cade's turn." or CarCar's turn."
.They do not like Mommy riding their new Power Wheels John Deere Tractors from Nana and Bopa!
