Moments to Remember!

The boys are doing lots of sweet stuff lately!!!

One day this week I was bathing the boys (Kevin was out of town this particular night). When I do it alone, I wash them both and then drain the water for one baby to sit in the empty tub while I dry the other. This day I finished up using the Johnsons' Baby Wash and threw it away before draining the tub. I dried Cade first and Carson was playing and throwing toys out of the tub until I put Cade down and grabbed Carson to dry him off. I was getting his pajamas on when I realized Cade had put all the toys back in the tub and was busy opening the cabinet door to put the cup where I always put it. I usually have that done before they get out of the tub. I guess he knows exactly what I do because then he looked around and got the Johnsons' Baby Wash out of the trash to put it in the cabinet, too! He's so precise!

So yes, my babies love to clean up! They've been singing the "Clean Up" song for quite some time now. It's got to be Carson's favorite song - he sings it all the time. Except it sounds like: "Bee Bop, Bee Bop." A couple of weeks ago he added in the next word - EVERYBODY - all 4 syllables, but not precisely articulated.

They love to figure things out. Cade figured out how to get the CD out of the CD player in their room, and then Carson figured out how to put it back in!

My favorite thing right now is when we tell the boys to "Love your brother" they will hug or lay their little heads over on the other one's shoulders. The other day Cade pushed Carson and I told him no and that he needed to be sweet to his brother and Carson leaned over and loved his brother - they are just applying such great Biblical truths already!

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10

Cade's home with Mommy!

Here's Cade eating some yummy pear slices!
And here he is asking for his "Bubby." So sweet!
Cade has got a virus we think. He really gave Mrs. Charlie and Mrs. Debbie a scare at Daycare this morning. I hadn't even been at work an hour when I got the call that Cade was acting listless, not eating or drinking, wretching, and losing color. He finally started to drink some juice when Kevin got there to pick him up (10 minutes vs. my 1 hour) and was on the mend. Everything checked out ok when I got him to the Dr. at 9 am, but by then he had eaten every snack I had in my purse. So, they want to check his bloodwork in the morning after fasting 12 hours. Please pray for Cade! I know the Lord has a great purpose for both of my children and He has protected them through so much! We praise God!

Melanie's Visit!

Here's Cade and Carson playing around in the living room while waiting for Mommy's friend Melanie to visit Tuesday night!
Carson and Cade sitting on their stools from Bible School!
Mommy forgot to take any pictures of Melanie with the boys - but they had lots of fun with her at dinner, playtime, and bath time! We're so glad she was in town and stopped by to visit!

Carson Kaneevil

Three simple reasons why he's a daredevil:

On Thursday Kevin went in the bathroom and shut the door with the twins playing at the door (much safer than in the toilet water by Daddy). 30 seconds later Carson was crying and Kevin opened the door to find the two of them standing right there with no toys around and no harmful objects near.

However (#1) Carson had an awful gash above his eye which looks much better in these pictures than it did to me on Thursday when I got home from work. Kevin said Cade had his bottom lip poked out looking at him as if to say, "Daddy, I didn't mean to hurt him!" Who knows what happened?

To refresh your memory: Cade sleeps in Carson's crib b/c the light from the window keeps him up at night (they go to bed at 7:30). So, you see him in Carson's crib and Carson is in Cade's crib when they woke up from nap in this picture.

Well, you see the little preemie outfits are not on the wall on the side where Carson sleeps (the one that says Cade). They both actually do that - no big deal right - I just hang them back up when necessary.

But notice that (#2) Carson has actually torn the mobil off of his crib. Friday night we were talking with John and Rebekah about babies and when to put them in big boy beds. Some people we know have children a couple months older than the boys in big beds. That sounds crazy to us. We said we have no reason to take them out of the cribs since we don't plan to have more babies, so why rush it!?! I said I'd keep them in the cribs til 3 if I could but they'd probably climb out before that . . .

(#3) Saturday morning - guess who climbed out of his crib? Carson! We heard a big thud on the monitors from 2 different parts of the house and both assumed the other was in the nursery with the boys. I was in the shower, so when the alarm went off, Kevin went in to check and Carson was sitting on the floor in front of his crib playing.

Also, just today he learned to open the fridge - ours has a mighty powerful suction on it, so I really can't believe he's doing that. Time to move the eggs up!
