Fun with Nana and Bapa!

Nana and Bapa came to visit this weekend and the boys loved it! Here's the twins in the playset!

Nana and the boys played and played!

Carson and Cade found the tunnel!

Climbing up the ladder!

Cade is ready to go down the slide on his tummy!

The landing was interesting!

Nana is reading the boys' favorite book about "Tow Mater" while they brush their teeth!
Carson with Nana at Outback!
Cade with Daddy at Outback, too!
Carson and Cade are playing on "stage" at the fish tank at Bass Pro!
The boys really like to to play at Bass Pro!
Checking out the paw prints on the floor!
Jumping off the "stage" again!
Nana and Bapa gave the boys these adorable outfits for our nice dinner on the cruise, and they were excited to run in and show them to us!
Story time was fun! The boys were wearing their old infant strawberry hats (for some crazy reason) that a friend of mine had made for them when they were born!

Copy Cats!

I can't believe the twins are already 3 months past turning 2! Where does the time go? They are at the best stage! They talk all the time - up to 8 word sentences! And they have the cutest little conversations together! They love to play together, chase each other, copy each other, talk to each other and just interact in any way they can! These boys are turning out to be such best friends! Here they are when they copied each other by dumping their fun dip out on the tray to have better access to the sweet stuff!

Here's some fun examples of what they're up to:

~~~
Carson: Ride Daddy's white truck, not black truck.
Daddy: Carson, how'd you know that?
Carson: You wear that. (pointing to Kevin's work uniform shirt)
~~~

Cade: Where Daddy go?

Mommy: He went inside Cade. (while we're sitting in the truck in the parking lot since Carson fell asleep)

Cade: Daddy at Lowe's.

~~~
They both can actually point out and name Lowe's, Bass Pro, McDonald's and Wendy's!
~~~

Cade: I not pooped.

Carson: I not pooped, either.

~~~
Carson: I need candy.
Cade: I need candy, too.
~~~

Carson: I ready eat. (every time I wake him up)

~~~
Carson: I heard that lawn mower crank up!
Cade: I heard that lawn mower crank up, too!
Then they proceed to describe the lawn mower as green! All boy(s)!
~~~

Cade: Mommy, read piretrucks pwease!

Carson: Mommy, read 9-9-1.

Mommy: It's 9-1-1.

Carson: 9-9-1 (big grin on his face!)

Hey, it's better than most of my patients recently when working on safety awareness!

~~~
Cade: (driving his car, gets in and closes the door) Get in Tar-Tar!
Carson: (copies Cade, gets out) Get out Cade!
~~~

Carson: ("reading" his Find the Duck book to me) That's hot. That's cold. (pointing to the right faucet handles on the sink where "Cade and CarCar's" toothbrushes are)

~~~
My friend Niccole: something stinks (when the elephants walked in the big top at the circus)
Cade: Tar-Tar (immediately pointing to Carson)
~~~

One night after having pizza, they decided to "make" pizza in the bathtub using their cups and washcloths . . .

Cade: My pete's hot.

Carson: My pizzie not hot. My pizzie cold.

~~~
Cade: Daddy kiss my pinger. (minor bump or scratch or ran over it with toy - something normal)
Mommy: Daddy's not home yet, but when he gets here you can get him to kiss your finger.
Cade: (an hour later, almost as soon as Daddy walked through the door) Daddy kiss my pinger.
Daddy: (kissed finger)
~~~

For those of you who don't know, I love childrens' books and am so thrilled that my boys have picked up this great love for books. Sometimes in the evenings, they don't even want to play blocks because they'll just want to read the whole evening! It's so fun! They can pick up almost any of their books and start "reading" - actually naming or stating memorized parts of the books. They love to have me read books over and over again - all their books. They do have favorites, but I'm sure we've read most of their books at least 1,000 times by now! May be a slight exaggeration! Anyway, they found one at the back of one of the book baskets the other day that we hadn't read in a couple of months. It's called Best Friends and has cute pairings of puppies and kittens! It is very sweet. Anyway, Cade picked it out.

Cade: Best Friends!

Mommy: Who's your best friend? (expecting to hear them say each others' names, but not knowing since we've never asked them this)

Carson: Daddy!

Cade: Doggie! (the little stuffed animal doggie that he got when he had to go to the hospital by 911 ambulance when he was 2 weeks old)

Later that night they changed their answers to Mrs. Charlie that keeps them at her house! How sweet that they love her so much!

Last night and again today . . .

Carson: Mickey Mouse my best friend!

Cade: Mickey Mouse my best friend, too!

Guess they're as excited as I am about riding "Mickey's Boat!"

Fun Times!

Cade and Carson love playing together! They are such great twin brothers - always copying each other! They have so much fun in all they do!
Carson figured out how to drive his tractor pretty soon after Nana and Bapa gave them to the twins at Christmas! He actually steers pretty well, too!

Cade heard us say, "Just push your foot on the pedal." and that's exactly what he does - even still almost 5 months later!
They love their playset and would be outside all day long everyday if we'd let them! Cade shakes his head no, because he doesn't need Mommy to catch him!

Carson loves for me to catch him!
The boys love to eat outside and will be really glad if we ever go shopping for some deck furniture!
This day they were pulling the wagon on our walk, but Carson got tired and climbed in! Cade just kept on truckin'!
On the way back around the circle, Carson decided he should help Cade pull the wagon again!
Cade likes to line stuff up and make a choo choo train! I thought this one was great because it has a little red caboose!
Carson and Cade love to "work" outside!
They are big "Daddy's Helpers!"
Cade decided to smell the Amaryllis - that's one of the few real flowers we've had this year!
Daddy and Cade at River City Cafe!
Carson gives Mommy a sweet kiss, too!
Fun times shopping with Daddy!
Last night the boys ate good, so we decided to make cupcakes for dessert! Time to lick the beaters! Carson is pointing and telling me the cupcakes are in the oven. Good to know!
Cade made sure to really clean his!
Finally we get to get back in the high chairs to eat the cupcakes!
Dig in!
Yummy!

The Awful Myrtle Beach Fire!

These are pictures from the remains of the fire this past week. It burned over 20,000 acres in Horry County. It started Wednesday and was this Monday or Tuesday before they had it 100% contained because of the dry conditions with all the wind and everything.
This is right beside Hwy 22.

This is on the way home from shopping Saturday night with Carson and Cade very interested in the firetrucks and lights and sirens! The firefighters were still attempting to contain all spurts of the huge fire over the weekend.
It's so sad thinking about all the people who lost their houses. Kevin was down there a lot getting power back on that Thursday and Friday, so the boys think Daddy is super-cool now that he works with firemen (Cade says piremen)!

Boating adventure and Grandma Ree's Party!

Ready to go fishing with Daddy again!

Austin and his Daddy went in Papa's boat with Mr. Stevie, too! I think Austin was the only one to catch a fish!Mommy, Carson, and Cade checking out the fiddler crabs on the bank of a creek!
Carson looks like a Grandpa here with his sunglasses down on his nose!
Cade fell asleep on my shoulder (each boy took a 45 minute nap at separate times while fishing)!
Daddy did catch a crab in the dip net!

  On Sunday we celebrated Great Grandma Marie's Birthday! Here's Cade!
Carson loves to carry stuff under his chin like this for some reason!
All the great grandchildren enjoyed the bouncey slide that Aunt Debbie brought over!
And her Golf Cart was a hit, too!
Ms. Megan let Carson drive!
All the children had so much fun!
The little boys had fun playing with Grandma's toys!
