Times TWO!
My babies are growing up! I still can't believe they're already 1 1/2! And yet, it seems like they've always been a part of the family! Here they are at Lowe's on their half birthday!
And here they are playing on the steps at home after bath that night!
Cade:
Carson:
They love to turn on lights and turn them off again! This is the only switch they can reach without us holding them up. Cade is demonstrating how excited they get over silly stuff!
The Check-up went very well! Their ears look great which is wonderful - Cade and Carson have been free of ear infections for over half a year! They each weigh 24 lbs and are 32 inches tall.
Things at 1 1/2 the Twins do that Make us Smile:
-Carson sings "Be Bop, Be Bop" any time we're cleaning up (He means: "Clean Up, Clean Up."-Cade crosses his ankles anytime he sits in his high chair - it's just so funny to us b/c Carson rarely ever does that.
-Cade loves Mrs. Debbie at Day Care and says her name.
-Carson loves Mrs. Charlie at Day Care and says her name.
-When we say love your brother, they'll both lean over and rest their heads on the other ones shoulders and wrap their arms around each other in a sweet hug.
-They both love to figure things out like the lights turning "On" and "Off" and the CD going "In" and "Out" of the CD player.
-Cade says: "I wa mo." for I want more.
-Carson says: "Me. Me." or "More. More. More. MORE." with extra inflection and volume on the last more when he wants more.
-They both know where things go and put things in their places when we ask them - like their toothbrushes in the drawer, their baby wash in the cabinet, their milk cups in the fridge, etc.
-They love to blow their noses - really they love kleenexes! The other day when Kevin was driving them to Day Care they started laughing hysterically and Kevin realized it was b/c Carson was pulling all the kleenexes out of the box to entertain Cade!
-They've recently learned to push each other when they get upset - this has not been good.
-They take toys from each other, but when the other one asks for it back they will usually be sweet and give it back.
-They know where to press all their toys to make them do whatever it is they do.
-They can put all their shapes in the right holes when they're focused.
-They love to stack blocks, and Cade especially loves to knock them down.
-Carson loves to put on shoes - any shoes, so watch out if you ever leave your shoes lying around when my son is near. Cade will usually want some shoes, too - when he sees Carson putting them on.
-They love to do the motions for lots of songs and especially love for Mommy to sing - who would've thought I'd ever have an attentive audience? They ask for more every time though!
-They love to sing their own made-up songs while riding in the car.
-They put very simple puzzle pieces in their right spots.
-They both love to read, but Carson especially loves to jibber jabber while looking at pictures and pointing to the words - so cute!
-When I say it's bathtime, they run to the bathroom!
-They go up and down steps safely. Cade says, "I go up."
-They get off the couch safely, but they still have to say: "Up" for a little help when they want to get on the couch.
-They can catch big bouncy balls.
-They walk backwards. That is really hilarious to see - they look behind them over their shoulders as they back up to line up that they're going to land in my lap.
-They love to look out the window and call for "Austin!" (his house is next door - straight across from our side breakfast nook window) and call for Chee Chee (his birdhouse is in front of the kitchen window).
-They know when they've done something wrong. They broke a glass candle in the dining room the other day and I yelled, "No!" from the kitchen. They both froze in place which was very good b/c I was able to scoop them both up before they could get cut.
-Their feelings get very hurt if they have to have a spanking.
-They sleep at least 11 hours at night and 2 at nap!
-They can show you all their major body parts!
-They like to point out "Eyes" and "Nose" on their toys.
-They want to use a real fork and have a real plate at every meal now.
-They eat so much!
-They get so frustrated when they can't tell me what they want.
-They'll imitate almost anything I say when they're in the mood.
-They still have some interesting articulation errors, but are definitely stimulable for all sounds.
-They knock on the back sliding glass door when Daddy's outside working on the deck.
-They open some doors. If they can figure out how to turn the knob - they'll open and close the door non-stop. One gets on one side and the other on the other side, and they'll knock back and forth.
-They love to chase each other through the house giggling!
-They talk to each other and understand the jargon that I can't understand.
-They say: "No." if I ask them almost any question except for going outside.
-Cade says: "I go outside." any time he hears Daddy in the garage!
-They love to help Daddy!
Here they are another day this week playing outside. Cade is playing on the steps.

Carson is walking through the yard.

Cade finds the middle of the Gerber Daisy!

Carson shows Mommy the pretty Star-Gazer Lilies that Daddy gave Mommy when he and Cade were born!

Cade stands by the oak tree Daddy planted when he was born!

Carson stands by the oak tree Daddy planted when he was born!

Carson helps to hand Daddy the hammer!

Cade is helping by picking up any nails from the ground!

The boys love to help each other when it's time to wash hair. I had to put the cup up to cover Carson's tinker toy!

Cade and Carson are overseeing the delivery of the Choice Deck boards yesterday!
