(Until now!) Here's Cade and Carson actually riding Clifford! That's right, I actually paid .75 for them to ride!

And they loved every second of it!

Cade just holds his upside down to take a bite - not quite as strange (yet, neither one quite as perfectly as I - jk)!

A few more antecdotes . . .

Carson asked to have his picture made with his dog (the little bitty yellow dog lab that came with this toy boat from Santa), so he went and stood (way up high) beside it and cheesed!

When I mentioned about how far away his face was from his dog, Cade held his up like this (they love to show-off)!
Then Carson decided to get closer to his dog like this!

Then Cade wanted his in the boat with him on the floor!

Yes, they're silly - wanting their pictures made with different stuff all the time! Carson asked me to take his picture with his truck. I did and then told him his face wasn't showing good b/c he didn't look up. This is what he did to correct it!

I put some things we'd heard the boys say recently on the last post, so of course I'm even more aware of the cute things they have said this week. Seriously, the cutest part of what they say is how they say it! You just have to hear them talking to each other! I could write down everything they say - it's so cute to me! Seriously, I've gotta stop!

We were passing a house down our street that is being built, and Cade said: "They still have tractors cuz they are gonna put more trusses on that house!"

~~~

They love to tell me what we're passing on the road and what side it will be on before we get to it! When we pass the place where they went with Daddy to see baby chicks last spring, they always tell me about it and they tell me that they don't have baby chicks there anymore! They also love to narrate what they're doing in the back seat, like Carson saying: "We're passing the pond where Daddy hunts geese." And Cade following up with: "We will shoot those geese." Then they pretend to hold up guns and shoot out the window.

I've mentioned on here that the boys love to be like Daddy - the other day Carson said, "Mommy, one day I will be a grown-up man like Daddy!"

Cade said, "Daddy has to share his boat truck and I will drive and Mommy you sit in the back and Daddy will sit in the passenger seat." Carson said he would sit in the back seat with me!

They both love to say, "When I get big I will drive Daddy's boat truck.

If they're awake when I leave for work in the mornings, the twins give me kisses and then run to the window to watch me leave. One morning this week, Kevin asked the boys, "Do you think Mommy's going to get on the bus?" Cade said, "No, I don't think so." Kevin asked, "You think Mommy's going to work?" Then Cade actually said: "Cool people don't ride the bus." Kevin asked for clarification b/c his cool sounds like tool! He asked about tall people and tool people. But Cade said, "No, cool." Of course, Kevin asked him who told him that, and Cade said: "Mommy." Let's just be clear that I did NOT say that! We have had talks about school busses plenty, b/c we see them all over. Mrs. Charlie's son gets on the bus at her house about the time we are dropping the boys off. One day they asked about riding the school bus and if her son wears a seatbelt. A couple days later they told Kevin that school busses don't have seatbelts. So they retain a lot of what they hear. But I have never used the phrase "cool people" with my boys. I really do want them to grow up just being themselves! So now we have talks about cool people riding the schoolbus and that they will probably ride a school bus when they get bigger.

One day this week, Carson told me: "Santa had to go back to the pole to get more toys!" I didn't even know they knew there was a "pole". (I bet they don't know there's two. Time to teach about habitats of Mommy's favorite animals.)

Speaking of my favorite animals, Cade and Carson love penguins and have several descriptive words for their different toy ones (blue penguin, hard penguin, black penguin, big penguin, and little penguin)!

At dinner one night this week, Cade was sitting funny on his chair and almost tipped over backwards. I asked: "Did you lose your balance?" A few minutes later, Carson said: "After dinner, I got to go to Sam's to get more balance because we lost them!"

The twins love to tell me what day it is and what we do on that day, like: "It's Wednesday - we go to Mrs. Charlie's and to church." or "It's Thursday - where we going after Mrs. Charlie's?" or "It's Saturday - we don't have to go to Mrs. Charlie's - we will go to the outlets and the mall!"

We have a "Baby's First Christmas" Album that the boys love to "read." It has several pictures that we had made with Uncle Adam, Aunt Joni, Austin and us for Kevin's parents. The boys started saying that's: "A different Joni" in all those pictures. Her hair is a good bit more blonde, and apparently I must have said something about her dyeing it, because one day we asked about why they say it's a different Joni. They told us: "That Joni dyed." We'll spell it that way. Needless to say the response required some more teaching!

Speaking of the other Jordan family - we were talking about what rides we will ride at Disney World, so we mentioned Goofy's Barnstormer! To our amusement, we heard Carson say, "It will hurt my tinkertoy!" We have been telling the boys Barnstormer is Austin's favorite ride, because we really want them to ride it with us!

The boys have always asked me to pray for firemen, police officers and ambulance workers. Now they have started asking me to pray for the power company workers. But the cutest is when they say, "Mommy, pray for me cuz I a fireman!" (or policeman, etc.) Their prayers have gotten a lot sweeter, too! The first night Carson prayed for God to bless Mommy and Daddy and listed lots of family members was precious! Now he usually just thanks God for: "all my things" or "all my stuff".

They are sweet with all the requests for kisses and hugs and asking if they can scratch my back!

So, to the sweetest thing that they say: "I love you!" Anyway they say that melts my heart!

Overheard . . .

This is going to be a long one, because I've got some little stories to share at the end!

Well, I don't really like posting without a handful of pictures, so here's the boys making cookies (yes, after Christmas and we're using Christmas cookie cutters yesterday, oh well)!
Notice the flour all over the sweaters - it was actually all on their faces, too! It reminded me of the rice krispies commercial from childhood where the lady throws flour all over herself to pretend like she slaved all over that yummy food. I asked the boys if they slaved over these cookies and they said yeah!

Then, Daddy brought a ladder in the house!

So, he immediately had a couple of helpers!

So, to address the title - I like to record some of the cute things I've heard the boys say recently, so here's some I've managed to write down:

One day in the van, Carson said: Ooh bright, Mommy get your sunglasses on cuz I see some sun!

~~~

They're both really interested in bad guys the past several months. I may have mentioned about how they think guys with mustaches are bad b/c Captain Hook has a mustache. We were shopping some day and saw a nice-looking man who was even holding a baby. Carson said, "You're a bad guy." followed by Cade's response, "I'm gonna hit him."

"I need a bandaid!" That's something I hear both of them say a lot. Of course, usually within 2 minutes of getting the band-aids (of course, both of them are hurt in the same spot when one of them actually gets hurt), they tell me, "It feels better now!" as they pull the band-aids off!

Whenever I ask the boys where they want to go, Cade answers, "to cut grass" and Carson answers, "to church"! I love those sweet boys!

Whenever I ask the boys what they want to eat, Carson answers, "Oatmeal" and Cade answers "Gritz"! They actually eat oatmeal and gritz almost every night lately. Hey, at least they'll eat something!

They always tell me they have their own drawer in their bathroom now (of course, I'm the one who finally cleaned out the drawers so they could have a toothbrush, big boy toothpaste, flosser picks, hair brush and spray water bottle in each drawer)!

~~~

They love to ask me to tell them a story during bedtime now (added to reading books, reading Bible, saying prayers and singing songs). When I tell them the one about the three bears, they love to tell me, "Poridge is oatmeal!" And when we talk about the bears taking a walk to let it cool off, they remind me that: "We don't go for a walk to let our oatmeal cool off - We just stir it."

These silly boys love to talk about when they get big:

"When I get all big, I'm gonna drive the boat all by meself and turn the motor on all by meself!" On Facebook, I said that was the 21-word quote by the Irish 2 year old Carson Jordan on 11/26/09.

We pass the elementary school (that they will likely attend) several times a week. I have told them before that will be their school. Cade and Carson will both say, "That's my big school - when I get big I'll go to that school!

"When I get big, I'm gonna go to that school and not have to hold hands in the parking lot!" Cade and Carson both say that when we go by Conway High School! They also say they will drive Daddy's boat truck and pull the boat behind them when they go to school! I can see it now! I always remind them that they can't go through a parking lot without holding my hands until they are as big as Daddy!

So, just the other day, Carson told me: "Don't hold me Mommy, cuz I'm 'bout to be big as Daddy!"

They are really into telling me that they are big now and are very aware that they are growing up. I'm always clarifying that even though they are big now, they will have to be bigger before they do some stuff. Now they both say, "When I get bigger, bigger . . . )

One of the craziest things I've overheard doesn't even come from the twins. One day at the breakfast nook table, I caught Kevin telling the boys to: "Stop acting like 2-year olds!"

Cade mimics a lot of what I say at random times. He's started saying: "That's nice!" everytime I tell him something. He also tells me: "Mommy, thank you!" to remind me to say Thanks when he hands me something!

We were on our way to church the other day and saw a truck like Uncle Adam's on Hwy 22. Carson said, "That's Uncle Adam's truck." I just said no cause I knew they had left in the Explorer. Carson finishes with: "But, Mommy, it matches!" Kevin verified that it was exactly like Adam's truck.

One day after Christmas but before we got the house undecorated, we heard laughter coming from the foyer. The crazy twins had knocked ornaments off the little pencil trees by the door and were eating, yes eating, the broken pieces of ornaments and laughing about it crunching in their teeth. What's really bad is that I had just had a talk with them about not eating anything without showing it to Mommy first - after hearing Carson say the dishwashing powder looked like sugar! Guess I'm still working with a 2 year old rationale here!

One of the funniest things I remember from recent is when we were driving by all the Christmas decorations in North Conway. We passed the houses with all the nice decorations and tons of Christmas lights on and came to the first house without Christmas decorations. Cade said: "Oh, they didn't pay their power bill!" You can tell his Daddy works for the power company!

Friday morning when I went in to wake up the boys, I turned on the bathroom light. Carson quickly said, "Mommy please turn that light off cuz I sleepy!"

Cade loves to tell me he's going to Georgetown. Carson loves to tell me he's going to Sam's. They'll say different places at different times, but the other day Carson said, "Mommy I'm in a hurry cuz I got to go all the way to the upstate!" He was planning a trip to Nana and Bopa T.'s house on his Little Tykes truck!

After shots the other day, Carson told me, "That pincher hurt me!"

Cade stubbed his toe the other day and said: Ow.

Carson: Does it hurt?

Cade: Um huh.

Carson: Want me to kiss it?

Cade: Yeah.

I love these little conversations I get the privilege of overhearing! Their talk is so cute and I love it every day!

The Boat Show!

We went to a Boat Show last night at the Convention Center!

Cade wanted to see these posts, so I snapped a picture. Then I called Carson over to take his picture by them . . . no picture of that b/c he tried to climb to the second post and fell in the process!

On the way home we stopped at Lowes and the boys, and I stayed in the car since it was so cold! We had our happy meal bag from the earlier Wendy's kids' meal to entertain us. For those of you who don't frequent your local Wendy's with children. They have Mad Libs prizes in their kids' meals! So I kept asking the boys for a word they like and here we have our first Mad Libs story:

MY PET

For my birthday, my parents bought me a pet hay. He is so cute that I named him Lowes. He has a really long car and I love to pet his boat skin. I bought him a truck collar that he wears around his wall. And I'm teaching him to horn and to come when I plant. Every time he does a trick, I say, "Good Oatmeal!" and feed him gritz. Next, I'm going to teach him to catch a Frisbee in his fan. Every night, he sleeps on Bambi right next to my cheese bed. And in the morning, he rubs his cheeseburger on me to wake me up. What a door pet!

A VERY SPECIAL KIDS' MEAL

Tonight my whole family is going to oatmeal at Wendy's! I can't wait! My box always order the same thing. Mom likes to eat a Bambi salad full of car. Dad likes juicy gritz with extra Lowes. But what should I order? When I have movie me I always want to drive. Then again, maybe I want two crispy fries with lots of Cade on the side. Or blue, purple vacuum to share with my Carson. Would you rather have red doughnut or yellow van? I can't decide either! Maybe I'll have a little bit of my dad's buggy go and my mom's poptarts loud. And if they want some of my ears made of car, they can have some - because sharing the box at Wendy's is fun for everybody! But I hope they keep their guy off my nice fries!

Kevin and I decided to let them stay up a little bit past the normal 8pm-8:30 bedtime, since they were so energetic! They kept carrying pillows from the living room where we were watching TV. And we kept hearing crazy laughter!

This is what we found - the boys hilarious laughter as they throw the book back and forth to each other. I asked what was so funny and Cade said: "CarCar is catching it!" as if I should think that was hilarious, too!

Welcome 2010!

New Year's Day the boys got to play with Daddy while I worked. I helped them get a nap when I got home (meaning I took an afternoon nap, too)! Then we played more. And Kevin and I undecorated the Christmas tree. We also took it apart - our first year to have a really nice pre-lit artificial tree. It was almost our last! That thing was awful - we pulled and pulled and thought we'd never get two sections apart. We were all scratched up and very upset. During the process, Kevin said several times we were taking it back to Lowe's. I really prefer a real tree (course we have had our disaster with that too - it fell over and broke a bunch of ornaments and had water all over the carpet one year), but I think he's determined to make it work next year. We'll see. Here's the boys after they lined up all these couch pillows again (while we were struggling with the tree - Kevin wouldn't let me take a picture of that) and called it their boat!

Saturday morning we slept late while Daddy was hunting! Here's the boys watching out the window as Daddy unhitches the boat! Yes, we did take the wreaths down that day (and all the other Christmas decorations)!

They lined up the pillows again this morning and when I called it their boat, I was quickly corrected that it was their horsey! Well, ok!
Here's nap time at our house! Yes, these crazy boys decided to wear this outfit Saturday morning! It's the outfit we got in St. Thomas on our Disney Cruise! Well, it was too cold to go outside, so it didn't really matter what they wore. They were funny though. They're both really in to pockets right now (and I really need to start checking their pockets before doing laundry - we've already washed several small items), so Carson could be found at any point during the day with lots of little toys in his shirt pocket. Notice they still sleep with those puppies and their favorite penguins!
