2009 Beginnings!

Carson thinks the DVD case is a book to read!

Taking turns on the stool while brushing teeth!

Cade and Carson are so good at brushing their teeth!

Carson decided to sit on Cade's lap!

The most fun part of bathtime is dumping the cups of water!

Ok, it's all fun!

They both wanted to wear my jacket!

I guess this is what siamese (spelling?) twins might be like!

Cade and Carson are pausing to watch the tractor DVD again!

Twenty Three Months Old Already!

What in the world? How are these crazy fun babies of ours so close to two years old? They love to stack blocks, or in this case presents!
Here's the beautiful flowers my outpatient gave me. He gave Niccole one, too! Wasn't that the sweetest thing from our patient!

Here's the boys enjoying their new tractor DVDs from Grandpa and Grandma!
They actually stop for a while to look at tractors!
Still, I can't praise God enough for His protection over our boys! He's blessed them so much. I'm so happy that they are 23 Months old even though I know the "baby" part of both of them is fading fast, they will always be my babies. So, no need to comment if I call them babies on here when they're 14 years old or something!
These little boys are talking all the time now! The intelligibility is limited however their language is expanding so fast! They tell us all kinds of things. Here's 23 fun things about the twins:
1.I don't think I've written it on here, but a couple of months ago I just had to ask Mrs. Charlie if they were teaching the boys Spanish even though I knew they were not. Carson's sentences were getting so Spanish sounding (again, not pronunciation but concepts): "My turn, my." "No milk, no." "Daddy truck, Daddy." and just putting adjectives after the nouns and other things in odd order.
2.Cade has his own strange things. A couple of months ago he started substituting /h/ for some bilabials (sounds made with both lips - sorry for the mix of SLP and Mommy talk). He says /hit/ for sit, /huck/ for truck, /baha/ for Bopa, /hoos/ for shoes. Ok, I can't think of any other bilabials he does it with - I need to start making a list.
3.They love to throw balls! I'm expecting a black eye (probably me more likely than them) anytime now from how hard they throw overhanded!
4.They love to pretend now. Carson especially loves to feed his toys!
5.Of course they are still big copy cats. When Cade hits his toe on something and says /hoe/ handing me his foot to kiss it, Carson comes over and holds up his foot saying /toe/ until I kiss his toe, too! The other day when Cade busted his lip while fishing it was less than an hour later and Carson did it, too!
6.They finally learned to say Merry Christmas less than a week before Christmas! It's so cute, but again hard to understand. I tried to record a good one, but they get so excited when I try to record it ends up being squeals!
7.They love to play "Night Night" pretending to go to sleep. All of a sudden they'll jump up and I'll say: "Good Morning!" and they go crazy laughing. Their favorite book right now is "Goodnight Gorilla." We almost always read that one each night. The boys each get to pick one book for Mommy to read and then Daddy reads the Bible story.
8.They love to tickle and be tickled!
9.They love to call Nana and Bopa on the phone (pretend - holding their hands up to their ears).
10.They holler: "EIEIO" as they point to the DVD player when we start to ride in the car. They have an Old MacDonald DVD that they watch at Day Care sometimes that they request a lot!
11.They can still be entertained in the car by Mommy singing songs, however recently they have started to adamantly respond with: "Mommy, No Mommy!" Guess they're realizing what a bad singer I am!
12.After taking the week off to visit my family, the boys got used to having Mommy and Daddy together all the time. When Kevin had to stay home with them the first holiday Day Care was closed, Carson kept telling him: "Mommy go home!"
13.They talk about Daddy and his truck and his boat most of the way home from Day Care each day.
14.They love to press buttons - especially on their new Hess trucks from Grandma and Grandpa and the dishwasher.
15.They are starting to recognize colors, just a few I've noticed but still none every time.
16.They prefer candy over anything else.
17.They love to run up and give hugs in the middle of their hard playing.
18.They are now in size 8 shoes!
19.They love to carry their backpacks around and put toys in them. They ask me to put them on and then say: "I'll be back. Bye-bye." and wave at me as they walk out of sight behind the couch in the living room.
20.They love to color, and love to put the crayons or colored pencils in the box when they're done.
21.They're actually pretty good at cleaning up and love to follow simple directions, like: "Put Elmo in Cade's crib."
22.They are getting so good at taking turns, like when washing hands or rinsing toothbrushes at the sink on their little stools. They announce who's turn it is: "Cade's turn." or CarCar's turn."
23.They do not like Mommy riding their new Power Wheels John Deere Tractors from Nana and Bopa!

Our Fishing Trip!

We decided to take the boys on a real fishing trip. It turned into an all day adventure. Here we are getting ready to back the boat in!

Carson drives the boat!

An oreo snack kept the first mates occupied while Daddy and Mommy fished!
Pressing buttons was fun, too! Thankfully none of the fishing equipment was destroyed!
The twins liked to help fish!
They were such good sports! On the way home they were talking about the trip saying things like, "I pet fish!" and "Ride Daddy boat!"
Cade and Carson!
Daddy and Carson reel one in!
Here's a black drum fish!
Here's the profits of our hard work! We caught about 15 fish! Daddy was impressed with Mommy's skills!
They are natural born fishermen!
We managed to only get two bloody lips!
Carson thought it was funny to put the ice on his head!

Cade decided he needed ice, too!
Carson, Daddy, Cade, Mommy!
We met up with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Adam in Grandpa's boat!
Cade had fun blowing the horn!
Carson enjoys playing in Grandpa's boat!
Carson fell asleep in Daddy's arms!
Here we are back at the landing - after a nasty, dark, foggy ride back to the landing where I even asked Kevin if we were in the middle of the ocean!

The Day After Christmas!

Toys under the tree this am!
We went shopping after playing at the house. Here's Cade and Carson in the buggy at Sam's. We spent just under $100 on only diapers and wipes!

Cade and Carson love the fish at Bass Pro Shops!
Carson cleans out the barbeque container at McDonald's!
Play time at Mickey D's!

Merry Christmas!

Christ the King is born today!

Here is what Santa left out for the twins' second Christmas!
Santa has filled the stockings, too!
Wake up sleepy heads - Santa's been here!
We read the Christmas Story from the Bible in Luke 2 before going in to see what Santa had brought! The boys are so precious to us - we want to make sure they know the real reason for the fun stuff going on. Of course we share the Good News of Jesus with them every day because He is Lord all the time!
Let the fun begin!
They had to put on their new backpacks right away!
Here they are opening some presents from Mommy and Daddy! Carson thought he should hand every little piece of trash to us!
The boys enjoyed helping us open our presents, too!
I got a nice Columbia pullover from Daddy along with a new chain for my multiples necklace and this year's Thomas Kincaid Holiday plate that I collect! And how cool - a certificate to take a photography class! I'm so excited - I've been wanting to learn how to better use my SLR camera. I call it my "Big Camera."
Daddy got a nice wallet with a Bass Pro Shops gift card from Mommy! And a couple other goodies!
Carson checks out his stocking!
Cade is interested in his, too!
Yummy - he likes the candy!
These boys are ready to eat their candy and breakfast!
Time to go outside and see what Santa left outside!
Here was Santa's Little Helper's workshop! Santa had to drop off the playset since he was so busy making things for other little boys and girls like Suzi, Zane, and Austin!
Daddy worked hard for Santa!
And this is how we covered it up! Ha!
Daddy did good!
Yay! Cade climbs up to check it out!
Carson slides to the bottom!
Then we went to Kevin's parents' house! Fun with the train set at Grandma's!
Carson and Cade love playing with Grandma and Grandpa's toys!
Carson!
Cade!
The boys enjoyed opening these fun presents from Uncle Adam, Aunt Joni, and Austin - Cade thought the candy cane wrapping paper would really taste like candy canes. I can only assume that since he licked the paper!
More fun presents! We got legos!
Daddy opens a present!
Helping Aunt Joni with her present!
Helping Grandpa, too!
We love Grandpa!
Outside with Grandpa and Grandma after a faulty naptime!
Back at home playing with the Tag reader books from Grandpa and Grandma!
